World Contraception Day 2025

World Contraception Day 2025

This World Contraception Day, we’re raising awareness about the importance of reproductive freedom and the power to plan your own future. Everyone deserves the right to choose — for themselves, their whānau, and their communities.

A choice for all. Freedom to plan, power to choose.

Access to contraception is a human right — essential for health, equality, and self-determination. Yet for millions around the world, especially women and girls, barriers like poverty, racism, displacement, and lack of education still stand in the way.

For more information and support, see: United Nations Population Fund

For contraception support services see: Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa (formally known as Family Planning)
