Ora Toa is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Tamariki Ora/Well Child team in Porirua.  This is a rewarding opportunity to support tamariki and whānau through compassionate and whānau-centred care.

Ora Toa, part of Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, delivers kaupapa Māori health services that support whānau wellbeing and prosperity. Our Tamariki Ora/Well Child service works alongside whānau to give pēpi and tamariki the best start in life.

Ko te tīmā | About the team

Based in Porirua with travel to Wellington, you’ll join a collaborative team delivering home visits, clinics, group sessions, and health promotion activities for tamariki and whānau.

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role

As our Registered Nurse – Tamariki Ora/Well Child, you’ll provide whānau-centred nursing care in line with the New Zealand Well Child schedule, supporting the health and development of pēpi and tamariki.

 ·        Deliver home visits, clinics, and group-based Tamariki Ora/Well Child services

·        Partner with whānau to provide health education and culturally safe care

·        Maintain high standards of clinical quality, documentation, and safety

·        Work closely with colleagues and external providers to improve outcomes for tamariki

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

You’ll be a registered nurse with a current practising certificate and experience in Tamariki Ora, Well Child, community nursing, or kaupapa Māori health.  You’ll be confident working independently, building strong whānau relationships, and contributing to a multidisciplinary team.

 ·        Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

·        A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice

·        Excellent organisation, initiative, and teamwork

·        A full and clean driver’s licence and confidence working in community settings
