About

Founded in 2014 at Ora Toa Takapūwāhia, Kaumatua Roopu is a community initiative enhancing the lives of the elderly. The group offers a welcoming space for seniors to socialise and stay active through activities like aqua jogging, dance aerobics, and strength and balance classes. Participants also enjoy kemu (games) and haerenga (excursions) for recreation and connection. By blending exercise, fun, and community, Kaumatua Roopu supports its members' well-being.
