You will work with the Ranui House Disability services Team
We are a small tight knit team who understand that teamwork makes the dream work and many hands make light work. We understand that the reason we’re here is to serve and speak for those that cannot do so for themselves. We pride ourselves in working hard to get the job done and know that our hard work never goes unnoticed.
Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role
The disability support worker is responsible for ….
· The overall care and support of our tangata whaikaha, meeting their social, medical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. This includes personal cares, cooking, cleaning and laundry.
· Advocating for our people and ensuring that they are included in both home and community events and activities. We support them and their needs and desires in whatever they choose, understanding that we are not just inviting them to the table but also including them in the dinner conversations.
· We always maintain that we are going into their home and caring for them, this means that we treat their home and property with nothing short of respect and care. We protect their identity and dignity by ensuring that they are well kept, this includes but not limited to the way we cater to their dietary needs.

Well, after hearing about us and about the role, you’ll know whether you’re the right person, and whether now is the right time for you. You don’t need to be the next CEO for this role, but you do need to have compassion and patience. This role is not the most fast paced and we really work with what our people are willing to give us each and every day. So, it is expected that you will have the following:
